Dylan's and his Toyota Corolla AE101

Toyota Corolla AE101, or SEG to those that are familiar with it, are known to be a nice and fun fwd cars. Does it live up to current standards?

We'll know later after our short interview with the owner - Dylan itself.

Well, we definitely do not have the answer to the answer as neither one of us at The Average Media had own a Toyota AE101 before. So getting the answer directly from the owner would be the right choice.

Before we talk about how does it perform, we talked on how he got his hands to his car. According to Dylan, he got this as his first car. It was totally stock back then - it does not even have the current 4AGE engine in it yet.

It was never the plan,

Originally Dylan just wanted to have some more fun with the car itself, so he did some simple mods on the 4AFE engine.

Then he slowly found out that the output from the 4AFE cannot satisfy him, plus he got a chance to ride on his friend's high revving 4AGE, so that's when he decided that he will be doing an engine upgrade.

As an Initial D fanboy, especially a fan of the 86, the dream itself will definitely be having a 11k-RPM capable 4Age, so Dylan started working on his car afterwards.

We all know that getting a 4AGE capable of making 11k RPM is not easy and possible, but at least Dylan could enjoy the exhaust note from the high revving engine after the full rebuild.

The car had a goal, which is to provide a unique and fun driving experience for the owner, and that's why he had kept the car simple. There's one thing worth mentioning is that the push start button was from a Honda Integra DC5, which makes it quite funny since this is a Toyota vehicle.

It comes with a pair of Recaros, with the driver side on RS-GS and the passenger side on normal recaros from DC5 as well.

The speedo was changed to a wagon version, and there's items from Sparco and Tom's everywhere.

However, it is rare to find a car like this without any gauges, as usually cars modded like this would have a gauge or two in it.

For the handling part, Dylan opted for Tein adjustable suspension, and paired it up with a set of Enkei RCT4 wheels.

And for brakes, it has been upgraded to Endless brake kit with the brake pads, hoses and discs from endless too.

But all good things has and end, and for Dylan, it is the time to sell off his Corolla.

It's definitely not cheap, but for what he has put in, I'll think that it's worth it. The car is located in Johor Bahru, and interested parties can contact Dylan (+60 19-913 6666) for more information.
